The prince of all saints — Lima Barreto and anarchism

Abstract

This article analyses the repercussion of the main anarchist tendencies in Lima Barreto.We examine the author’s choice in using the term Maximalism as a particular Limian appropriation on the Russian Revolution. Additionally, we examine the importance of anarchism as a constitutive part of an emerging post-abolition black literature that will express the violent and barbaric ways in which racism has shaped contemporary society.
