Abstract

This study aims at testing the reliability of the “Lingua Franca Core” (LFC), proposed by Jenkins (2000). The data involve interactions among 5 speakers of English as an International Language: one Brazilian, one Japanese, one German, and two Thais. The results cast doubts on the reliability of the LFC.
