In this article, we highlight the interdisciplinary between medicine and philosophy in reference to monitoring patients who have diabetes, a chronic disease which demands a new approach to life on the part of patients, their families and the health professionals who are following up on their cases. The study of health, based on experience, and the experience narratives of those who are involved, when includes health philosophy, may offer professionals a repertoire to deal with their own anguishes; preparing them for dialogue, broadening the perception of the other, and strengthening them whenever handling the techniques that will approach doctors, their patients, and their suffering. We aim at articulating a dialogue between the knowledge of philosophy and medicine, considering the diagnostic of diabetes in accordance with the norms of the Brazilian Society of Diabetes, mediated by the knowledge of Hans Jonas and Jacqueline Lagreé, philosophers who exchange ideas with health, based on their experiences and reflections.
