This article proposes to postulate that the conception of symptomatology presented by Gilles Deleuze in the “Prologue” of the book on Sacher-Masoch, in 1967, has two complementary faces, which refer respectively to the 1962 book, Nietzsche and philosophy, and the work on Bergson from 1966. To develop this hypothesis, we intend to expose the problematic field involved in the “criticism and clinical” project; in the next moment, we will deal with the symptoms in chapter 3 of the 1962 book; in the subsequent step, we will address the discussion elaborated by Deleuze regarding the method of intuition in Bergson; Finally, we will try to articulate symptoms and intuition in the genesis of the critical and clinical project in 1967.
