Abstract

We aim to analyze Louças de família by Brazilian writer, poet, and translator Eliane Marques. We consider its compositional process, marked by its discontinuous and fragmented nature, starting with its indeterminate literary genre. Through a first-person narrator who witnesses the recalled events and facts that traverse the family histories of Black and marginalized women, our analysis delves into the interaction with the reader, particularly the female reader, using intertextual and parodic techniques. This establishes a clear relationship with self-writing and “escrevivência” as it becomes a personal and collective experience of a slavery descendant. The study is qualitative and bibliographic, employing an interdisciplinary approach with language process, drawing on theoretical contributions from Evaristo (2017; 2020), Faedrich (2016), Sarlo (2007), Kilomba (2019), Gonzales (1988, Souza (2020).
