Employability, entrepreneurship and the contributions of supervised internships for students in undergraduate administration courses

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the impact of supervised internships on the development of professional skills of students in Business Administration courses and their contributions to employability and the development of entrepreneurship. The study explores how internships, from the perspective of Brazilian laws, help undergraduates develop essential skills and, mainly, competencies for the job market, in addition to contributing to their insertion into formal employment or the field of entrepreneurship (SCHÖN, 1999). Based on the analysis of 10 supervised internship reports, we demonstrate how these practical experiences contribute to the development of technical, interpersonal and attitudinal skills, which favor obtaining a quality formal job (GIL, 2010). The research uses documentary techniques for data collection, and the results suggest that supervised internships are an effective tool in preparing students for the job market.
