O objetivo deste artigo é uma breve discussão sobre o caráter do “evidencialismo” na discussão entre William Clifford e William James. Conhecida sob o tópico de “ética da crença”, a discussão adentra o problema da epistemologia da religião, mais propriamente sobre o status de racionalidade da crença religiosa. Após a exposição da querela, será aduzida de maneira introdutória a chamada “epistemologia reformada” de Alvin Plantinga como uma resposta ao problema do evidencialismo.Metrics
