Causality and Induction in Duns Scotus
Keywords:
Causality, Duns Scotus, Induction, RealismAbstract
I this text we try to reconstruct the position of Duns Scotus aboutinduction. He is conscious of the logical jump that occurs in induction.Nevertheless, he says that there is a rational justification for it. We shall, therefore, explain first what are for him the principles of knowledge; then, weclear up the principle of causality; at the end, we present the two kinds ofinduction. We shall also contrast his position with some theses of Hume and Kant.Metrics
