Abstract

In this paper we present some of the important contributions by professor Lafayette de Moraes to the development of Mathematical Logic in Brazil. On behalf of the Center of Juridical Logic and Theories of Argumentations of São Bento College, we are glad to take part in the celebrations of the 80th aniversary of this professor, promoted by the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo, with this special issue of Cognitio.
