Abstract

In this paper we present the way some authors related to contemporary pragmatism deal with the phenomenon Albrecht Wellmer calls "the antinomy of truth",, i. e., the antinomy that opposes those who adopt absolute patterns to define the concept of truth and those who reject any pattern in the discussion of this concept. In the first part we discuss two authors of the so-called neopragmatism (Putnam and Rorty) in order to show how they deepen each of the aspects of antinomy. In the second part we discuss the ideas of Jürgen Habermas, who intends to propose a solution to this dilemma.
