Abstract

This communication intends to remind the avicennian legacy to thirteenth century thinkers in latin West, in particular to Thomas Aquinas and John Duns Scotus, concerning the concept of essence or nature. At last, reference will be made to Charles Sanders Peirce’s relation with Duns Scotus in the topic in question.
