This paper aims to study the relationship between philosophical phenomenology, the characteristics of knowledge that derive from it, and the way they interfere with the production of knowledge in communication and semiotics. First, we observe the conception of communication as a transmissive process developed by classical media studies or mass communication processes. Then, communication and semiotics are approached as epistemological fields that, although they develop mutual scientific influences, are often considered distinct scientific areas Currently it is observed the emergence of other bases of reflection can approximate communication and semiotics as scientific areas.Metrics
