Wittgenstein and Realism

Realism is a significant matter in contemporary epistemology. As an activity that produces objective truths, science claims a separation from everything that may be characterized as notes of subjectivity in the expression, through language, of its truths. This study approaches the interface between the notion of play and its implications in relation to cognitive pretensions of science in producing a type of belief with justified truth status. Apart from a typical exclusive image of the Realisms, it is argued that the best scientific image is in fact a diffuse image of the real. It is argued that Philosophical Investigations and On Certainty, late works of Wittgenstein, extend beyond a possible realism that may be found in Tractatus.
