Frege e Peirce contra o psicologismo: contribuições para a filosofia da linguagem

Abstract

The present work aims to establish a dialogue between the criticisms traced by Gottlob Frege and Charles Sanders Peirce to psychologism. The study aims to contribute to the understanding of themes dear to philosophy of language, such as the nature of thought and the construction of meaning. So, we will present the concepts of psychologism and some arguments raised in its favor. Having done that, we will list two so-called antipsychological criticisms, starting, in the second section, with Frege’s positioning and think about its reflections in the text On Sense and Reference. In the third section, we will approach in Peirce’s philosophy how antipsychologism is presupposed from his initial writings to the development of the author’s semiotics.
