Abstract

We investigated some representations about basic school teachers onthe refl exive professional writing elaborated by teacher-trainees whowere enrolled in the supervised compulsory teacher-training subject. Bythe identifi cation of the representations made, we also characterized thewriting mentioned and found out the relevance of this academic writtenregister to the teacher’s critical education. These objectives were achievedby the articulation between Systemic Functional Linguistics, especiallythe concept of context of culture, and the transdisciplinary approach ofApplied Linguistics. The results showed an effort to render invisible theteachers in the register investigated. They seem not to be represented asteacher-trainee’s interlocutors.
