Abstract

Hannah Arendt, German philosopher and political theorist of Jewish origin, known for her analyzes of the human condition, totalitarianism and politics, presents in her works not only the definitions and correlation between these themes, but also the challenges inherent to freedom and political action. The fundamental concepts elaborated by Arendt contribute significantly to the broad and in-depth understanding of the essential role of the Brazilian Public Prosecutor's Office in defending the legal order, the democratic regime and unavailable social and individual interests, a role undoubtedly intended to protect, at a social level, the freedom, plurality and public space as an antidote to the installation of totalitarian governments.
