Remediation and technological extensions of graffiti — This article discusses certain processes of remediation and of technical and mediatic reconfiguration of the practice of graffiti writing. The core hypothesis is that, in recent years, the logic of the communications media has crossed over and remodeled the universe of graffiti writing. The wide availability of technical instruments (such as cameras) and new mediatic environments (such as the Web) favors the emergence of trends and major innovative strategies. Urban interventions and cultures are thus requalified. We present here various theoretical occurrences and elaborations that shed further light on the subject.Metrics
