Communication theories’ overview

Abstract

Throughout the book As teorias da communicação (the title in English means Communication theories,) the author Francisco Rüdiger, builds a critic overview about some Communication theories in the social and philosophical fields. The author goes by Communication’s theory fundaments, examines the Chicago School, as well as the functionalist and materialist paradigms. Once approaching the Frankfurt School he focuses more on Habermas. Finally, he finishes the book discussing the mediologic contemporary paradigm and its impact on Communication and society.
