Abstract

This paper addresses some phenomenological frames to the concept of ‘communication’, drawing mainly on the notion “life-world”, and highlighting the later’s ontology as a communication-grounded idea. The goal is to draw some articulations between them to the study of Communication from a theoretical and critical point of view. The argument is three-folded: (1) it presents and discusses the concept of ‘life-world’, stating its relational and communicative aspects; (2) it discusses a concept of ‘communication’ grounded on this phenomenological notion; (3) it draws some relationships between this phenomenological approach and some existing communication theories. Finally, it discusses some problems and limits of this approach.

Professor do Mestrado em Comunicação da Faculdade Cásper Líbero. Doutor em Ciências Sociais pela PUC-SP. Foi pesquisador-bolsista da Universidade de East Anglia (Inglaterra). Autor dos livros "Teoria da Comunicação" (2009), "Comunicação e Identidade" (2010) e "The Mediatization of Religion" (2011), entre outros.

Angela Cristina Salgueiro Marques, Professora da FAFICH / Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais

Professora da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais. Pós-Doutorado pela Univesidade de Grenoble (França). Doutora em Comunicação pela UFMG. Co-organizadora do livro "Comunicação e Política" (Summus, 2011) e autora de artigos publicados em periódicos do Brasil e do exterior.
