Abstract

This work problematizes the notion of hegemony in the construction of the concept of disqualification of politics, based on the analysis of contemporary Brazilian serial fictional audiovisual productions. In its theoretical-methodological path, the role of the notion of hegemony in the elaboration of the concept of disqualification of politics will be organized by the articulation between theoretical discussion, based on the bibliographical review, and empirical object, through the specific analysis of three series. We structured the text into two parts, in addition to the introduction and final considerations. In the first part, a discussion is developed on the conceptual formation of hegemony within the scope of its relations with the field of communication, while in the second, the concepts of hegemony and disqualification of politics are related to the productive and aesthetic-narrative scenario of the fictional audiovisual series contemporary Brazilian, ending with a brief analysis of three national serial productions. In a movement of dialogue between theoretical framework and empirical object, we highlight that a complementary study of these three audiovisual works allows us to understand the multiplicity of forms of a hegemonic construction, whose central focus is on the disqualification of politics, in a context of transformation and complexity of changes social issues and a feeling of disbelief and revolt with politics, especially as an institutional activity, predominantly seen as corrupt, corrupting and inefficient.
