Responsibility and intelligence
Ciência Todo Dia and audiovisual narratives about science
Keywords:
narrativas sobre ciência, análise da narrativa, audiovisual onlineAbstract
The article uses Greimas semiology in order to analyze the narrative structure of the YouTube channel Ciência Todo Dia, a product that is a consequence of a contemporary diversification of the audiovisual. The structure of these stories is ordered through two semantic micro-universes. In a description elaborated through the actancial and actorial model, it will be described: 1) the non-human attributions (guided by an intelligence without limits); and 2) the human attributions (marked by the sense of danger present in the mistake and in the responsibility to remedy it). The ongoing theme of /doing/ discussed in these plots will be presented in two ways. In the first, the elements of nature are staged based on actions conducted in an omniscient and autonomous manner. The second explains how human intervention depends on a skill of judgment indispensable to the characters who conduct such acts.
