Means-source on the international pages of O Estado de S. Paulo
Keywords:
journalism, sources, information networkAbstract
On journalistic production, the objectivation of each event involves a conflict of perspectives between journalists and sources through the present definition that surrounds us. These combats are established in the discursive level, among social controls and pressures for what to say and how to say it, being conformed within an information network built up from priorities on which informational efforts in each media are focused. This article approaches the use of other medias (newspapers, radio and TV stations) by the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo as sources for the signification of the diplomatic crisis between Colombia and Ecuador, in the period from March 2008 to August 2009. The article is guided by a debate on the implications of the means-source used by the journalistic production about international occurrences. For the analysis the corpus is based on 307 pieces of the International section.Metrics
