New perspectives for Mikhail Bakhtin’s thought

Abstract

This review highlights the main arguments from the articles present in Mikhail Bakhtin: linguagem, cultura e mídia (Translated to English the title means: Mikhail Bakhtin: language, culture and media). It primarily focuses on the expansion possibilities of his theory to unpredicted fields, such as media studies, which benefits from its ambitious philosophical approach. It is noticeable a great number of comments regarding Bakhtin’s contributions to the enrichment and modernization of the Communication Theory, demonstrating the deep contemporaneity of his concepts.
