Abstract

We considered in this paper how a teacher who works in an educational context mediated by computer can reduce possible negative effects emerging from the existent gaps in the interdiscursive nets. We think that interdiscursivity can be a determinant factor for a dialog of alliance or confrontation. In our reflection, we selected a forum of the “Grammatical Review” course, offered through the internet by Escola Superior do Ministerio Publico de Sao Paulo. There, we observed how interdiscourses can define the “tone” of the interaction between teacher and pupil. We verified which strategies of politeness can soften occasional negative effects produced by the emergent discourses. We noticed that the interdiscursivity must be taken into consideration by teachers of any courses mediated by computer, during which the conflicts seem to occur in a more imminent manner than in classroom courses due to obvious reasons: strategies such as gestures and tones of voice, among others, that can help soothing conflicting messages, may be replace by other messages which sometimes are not adequate ones.
