Abstract

This work aims to analyze and describe a teaching and learning process of writing summaries involving deaf professor and deaf student in an academic context, in order to evaluate their writing production skills through an interactive pedagogical intervention. It sought to develop writing skills by looking at aspects of this process that can be enhanced through a Teaching Communicative Approach with a deaf student. The result revealed that under such approach it is possible that the deaf student is able to bring his written productions closer to the Portuguese standard, with similar characteristics to the hearing students ones.
