Abstract

The aim of this study was to evaluate whether the use of digital games can contribute to the improvement of childrens cognitive performance. The performance of two classes of elementary school was comparatively analyzed. One group played for two months, twice a week, for 30 minutes. The groups were evaluated by applying two testsand by conducting an interview with the teacher. The results revealed a significant improvement in the performance of the students who played, offering indications that the use of digital games contributed to improve the performance of the cognitive processing speed.
