Abstract

Among various studies about the use of education technologies, evaluation is one aspect to be investigated. This article aims to discuss the evaluation system of an online development course for state school teachers of English in São Paulo. Based on the concepts of formative evaluation (ALLESSANDRINI, 2002; ARANDA, 2019) and evaluation of course participants´ performance, the authors share their reflections and experiences as evaluators and on evaluation, while emphasizing the role of feedback; of explicit criteria; of the learning objectives; and how assessment can help the trainer in managing distance courses.
