This article presents the results of an experiment about the teaching of intonation in which the performance of two groups are compared: (1) the experimental group, which underwent a training through instrumentals of acoustic analysis of speech and (2) the control group, which underwent a standard training at the languages laboratory. The final results show the importance of acoustic analysis as an instrument of identification of L2 characteristics, which are not perceived/produced by a non-native speaker. These results constitute an important base for the elaboration of teaching material and for the implementation of innovative strategies on the development of perception and production of speech.Downloads
