CONSIDERATIONS ON SELF-ASSESSMENT AND ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING

This paper presents the partial results of a study carried out in a public educational institution which aims to investigate the students’ perception on self-assessment and its correlation with official assessment tools used in the English subject. Thus, first of all, a questionnaire with open and closed items on experience and perceptions about the theme was applied. The results show that, although participants have already used a self-assessment, the definitions and opinions about the positive and negative aspects of this kind of assessment vary among students.
