Gerontological Education: brief intervention in a Social-Daycare Center for Seniors and their impacts over professionals.

The revision of beliefs toward aging as well as the knowledge updating among professionals is scientifically and educationally relevant. This study has embraced the following purposes: a) to gather sociodemographic information of the professionals who comprises the multidisciplinary team of a Social-Daycare Center for seniors; b) To characterize the beliefs toward aging, c) to assess the impact of a Gerontological Education program based on the Gerontological survey of the professional’s needs, demands and issues of interest in the field of gerontology. The results showed positive beliefs, mainly in the cognitive domain. In summary the participants recognize that the Gerontological Education is the key to enhance their abilities to perform their work.Downloads
