Successful aging among the participants of a program of continuing education

This study aimed at analyzing the emissions related to the good aging process of 140 participants at the University of the Third Age of the Faculty of Arts, Sciences and Humanities of the University of São Paulo. To analyze the emissions, it was used a content analysis and then the Ward's method. The content analysis of emissions indicated the existence of 10 categories that were associated with good aging: maintaining good health (79.29%), fostering good relationships (47.14%), maintaining emotional balance (46.43% ), being active and productive (35.00%), having leisure (32.86%), having a good financial situation (20.71%), being autonomous and independent (20.00%), experiencing spirituality (12, 86%), acquiring new knowledge (12.86%) and helping others (12.86%).Downloads
