In the world we live in it has become indispensable that all citizens be able to coexist with increasingly dematerialized practices. This study investigates the sociocultural factors that influence the learning of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and identifies the impacts of this learning on Welfare (mental and social). The research involved 374 citizens (50+ years) and the results indicate that throughout the aging process the need for communication and maintaining intellectual activity are preponderant factors in the acquisition of digital skills, with the inclusion and education of key elements in lifelong learning.
