Abstract

This article is part of a reasearch which aimed at elaborating references about Psychology in Brazil, based on papers about the theme; the data presented here refer to the period of the consolidation process of Psychology in Brazil, between 1930 and 1962 (when the profession was regulated). A significant production is perceptible, concerning: teaching, application, publications, researches, congresses, and creation of entities and associations. The education field, following the tendency of the previous period, is the one with most productions, and it is the basis for the development of other workfields. The productions of this period reinforce the thesis that it was then when the consolidation of this area of knowledge and workfield took place, what was the fundamental condition for the regulation of the profession and settlement of Psychology courses which would come next, in 1962, with Law 4119.
