Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the academic production presented at the Work Group Psychology of Education (WG 20 at ANPEd) from the years 2005 to 2009. In this article we develop a discussion about the pertinence of thinking about the definition of psychology of education's field, from the delimitation of its object. In order to analyze the thematics of communications, we have used the methology of content analysis, starting with the exaustive reading of abstracts; consults to full texts in order to clarify doubts that have emerged on the first step; categorization of works based on the announced thematics and, new categorization due to the specificity focus of each work within every thematic, in each annual meeting. We seeked to define these focuses according to the research problematics in which the communications were produced. This way, four possibilities were considered: theoretical reflexions, scholar context, scholar context inclusion, and family and community. It is necessary to point out that the inclusion on scholar context was conceived as a separete category, once that the inclusion process foresees an integration among diferent contexts. The reading of the production focuses in the communications has allowed us to find that such focuses are concentrated among the theoretical reflexions and scholar context. Therefore, Psychology of Education (the production presented on ANPED's WG 20 must be considered) has been concentrating their studies on the scholar institution. This reflects a concern with the applicability of results on the solutions of problems faced at school.
