The teaching presence of online teacher-tutor like student’s autonomy support

Abstract

The aim this theoretical study is contribute to the understanding aspects that support and strengthen pedagogical practices that prioritize the student’s autonomy in elearning contexts based on the teaching presence of online teacher-tutor. Based on the epistemological assumptions of Cultural Psychology, specifically in Sociocultural Constructivist Approach, are presented the conceptions of autonomy, online student’s autonomy, teaching presence, and teaching and learning in virtual learning environment (VLE). Expected, with this framing, collaborating with teaching practices in distance education (EaD) to realize the importance of the role of online teacher-tutor in the co-construction of learning at VLE, and student’s autonomy support.
