Influence of Socioeconomic Factors in the Definition of Ethical Behavior: A Study Using Cluster Analysis

The issue of ethical behavior has been gaining prominence in administrative studies. Several authors analyze the ethical behavior of the agents in counterpoint with their moral values and the current opportunism. The study carried out a grouping analysis characterizing four defined groups (unethical, unethical, ethical and very ethical) based on the socioeconomic variables. The research is descriptive, using the survey technique for data collection, and cluster analysis. The sample consisted of 243 respondents, between January and December 2016, in the city of Campo Grande / MS. The results indicate that the socioeconomic characteristics, on average, do not differ significantly between the groups, showing that these do not influence ethical behavior.
