Abstract

This study focuses on presenting a methodological proposal for the hermeneutics of objects and interests in religious studies and theology in pop culture artifacts from a qualitative exploratory bibliographic research regarding methodological procedures. Therefore, this study is divided into four points: the agency of pop culture, the characteristics of pop culture artifacts, from the dynamics of their narratives, the convergences between pop culture and religion, and the cartographic-critical method as a possibility of a hermeneutics of pop culture artifacts. The study indicates that based on the general characteristics of pop culture and its proximity to religion, the method takes a three-dimensional look into pop culture and can serve as a reference for studies on the religious phenomenon in these productions.
