The purpose of this article is to discuss the formation of PTB's Labor Youth, focusing on its section of Belo Horizonte. From this section emerged a generation of activists who would later engage in organizations such as ORM-POLOP and the AP. The activists of the MT of Belo Horizonte were aligned with the brizolistas currents of the PTB. In the late 1950s, they approached Marxist thought and more combative sectors linked to the Catholic milieu. This group included Theotônio dos Santos, Vânia Bambirra and Herbert de Souza, activists who would gain prominence in the national left in the following decade.Downloads
