Abstract

Based on the study of printed materials as well as publications published by a number of human rights defense organizations between 1970 and 1980, this article proposes reflections on the actions of human rights movements and the political culture of resistance to the dictatorial regimes present in the countries in the Southern Cone in such period. It addresses the constitution of this network of human rights defense entities and highlights the importance of the communication circuits which have supported them; posing questions on the nature, strength and efficacy of both the vehicles and the communication network this kind of press is composed of.
