In this article we will examine a European border in southern America in the early 17th century. Singularly, we will analyze what our testimonies expose about the power relations and the knowledge they had about that indigenous space that they sought to occupy, dominate, that they crossed and where they negotiated. We will focus mainly on the north, northwest, west and southeast of the current state of Paraná, which was part, in the second half of the 16th century until the first decades of the 17th century, of the Spanish Province of Guairá, an area known in Portuguese America as Sertao dos Carijos.Downloads
