"Express yourself!"
The singularity university and the radical romanticism of entrepreneurial education

This paper discusses the emergence of an educational project called “Singularity University”. Initially created on Silicon Valley, it comprises a set of theoretical and procedural assumptions that, based on the so-called “exponential technology”, aims to create a new model of higher education, aligned with the principles of the technological universe. In this research, I approach the main components of the intellectual ethos that makes up the project, the prophecies of the future that support its literature and, finally, the arrival of Singularity for São Paulo, with special attention to the effects that this coming has on intellectual life of the city and, above all, for the impacts of this new educational model in the public debate about the role of the university and intellectuals.
