Evil Triad: the weak’s civilization in the work world. Minas Gerais, 1889-1930

Abstract

This article analyzes the production process of the founder representations in the work world in Brazil, particularly in Minas Gerais State, in the late nineteenth to the twentieth century. Through the critical and the criminalization of customary practices such as gambling, alcohol consumption and prostitution, the men from Triângulo Mineiro and Alto Paranaiba regions look forward to establish a new social order to the assertiveness of labor and the image building of the national worker.
