Polybus Against Timaeus, or the Right of Criticize

Abstract

The critics of Polybius to what he considers historical and methodological errors of his antecessor Timaeus of Tauromenium constitutes index of an historiographical procedure converted in his own methodology founding right. Inserted in Greek agonistic mentality, such right symbolizes a still more important prerogative, that of reflecting and reviewing.
