Abstract

Given the dual function of the history of historiography, the critical and the memorialistic, the aim of the paper is to analyze the history of Brazilian historiography, highlighting the work of José Honório Rodrigues, and also trying to understand the place of the historian Capistrano de Abreu (1853-1927) in this history.
