Abstract

The decades of 60's and 70's in the last century represented, for many interpreters of Brazilian music, a way to act politically in their world. This urge to make a stand against the political reality is present in the repertoires of Elis Regina and Taiguara, for instance, but also it can be seen among those who were trying to produce a behavioral revolution, visible in the experience of Jovem Guarda as well as in the musical group Os Mutantes. In these four examples just mentioned, we see diverse forms of critical and political positioning against the establishment.
