The art of capoeira in "Capeta Carybé´s” images

Abstract

This article proposes a discussion around the capoeira art as portrayed by the brazilian artist "Capeta Carybe" grasping the "gestus" as well as the metamorphosis of the body as a result of a continuous workout dance/fight played as a game. We use the Carybe's pictures in order to recall the body memories which express the micropolitics desired by Afro-decedents, who had to found other devices to put their know-how, their dreams, their gear and their wishes.
