Abstract
This paper aims to present a proposal for Trend Insecurity Index (ITP) for the labor market in the metropolitan region of Sao Paulo. First, however, these models are analyzed by Savoy (2000), De Toni (2004) and Freire (2006). From the results obtained, it is considered that the use ITP as a statistical tool proved to be a valuable tool for analyzing the evolution of forms and conditions of insertion present in the metropolitan labor market of São Paulo. The results of the ITP show increasing precariousness of the labor market between 1995-2003 and the SPMA downward trend in the same precarious labor market between 2004-2009.
