Is it necessary to review the privatization policy in Brazil?

Brazil is subject to the rules of the Washington Consensus, which requires an internal policy of balancing accounts, prioritizing the payment of public debt to the detriment of investment in social spending. For this purpose, it determines the privatization of state-owned companies to obtain money for this payment, although the debt account continues to increase. The government of the State of São Paulo extended these measures to extinguish the Forestry Institute, transferring its research activity to a new unit with the merger of the Geological Institute and the Botanical Institute and the transfer of management of the extensive areas to this new unit. The work analyzes the new developments of these measures that have already brought immediate damage.
