Educação Matemática Pesquisa published its Vol. 1, No. 1 in 1999. Starting in 2026, it has adopted a continuous publication model, publishing a single volume per year without issue numbers, with articles being published one by one as they become ready.

From 1999 (Vol. 1) to 2008 (Vol. 10): Published 2 issues per year.
From 2009 (Vol. 11) to 2012 (Vol. 14): Published 3 issues per year.
From 2013 (Vol. 15) to 2014 (Vol. 16): Published 4 issues per year.
In 2015 (Vol. 17): Published 5 issues.
From 2016 (Vol. 18) to 2018 (Vol. 20): Published 3 issues per year.
From 2019 (Vol. 21) to 2020 (Vol. 22): Published 5 issues per year.
From 2021 (Vol. 23) to 2024 (Vol. 26): Published 4 issues per year.
In 2025 (Vol. 27): Published 5 issues.
