This qualitative study analyzed the perception of female executives about the experiences and career models experienced and desired in the mining and steel sectors. The results indicate that these segments are still strongly influenced by the traditional career model. Executives seek jobs that allow flexibility of time and location and autonomy to make career choices that are appropriate for them, aspects that do not find space in mining and steelmaking. Therefore, whether subtly or explicitly, women are denied career models that adapt to their needs, creating difficulties for them to balance their personal and professional lives.
